The role of the Marketing Manager is to tell stories and drive wine sales for Tank Garage Winery and James Cole Winery through management of company websites, email campaigns, social media, winery events, and wine club management. This position will have a primary focus on Tank Garage, but will also support James Cole periodically as part of a small and cross-functional team.
The Marketing Manager plays a key role in managing, building, and protecting the brands by ensuring that our marketing content, customer communications, and sales channels (e-commerce and in-person experiences) work together seamlessly to deliver the high-quality, unique experiences that our customers expect.
Individuals who are most successful in this role are creative, innovative and tactical, possess excellent writing and storytelling experience, as well as strong technical skills and experience in photography, Adobe CC, and the internet. They should be dynamic, flexible, a self-starter, and able to adapt to the wineries’ frequently changing needs and the company’s growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive visitation and sales across all channels.
- Ensure that our websites and online stores are running optimally by conducting regular maintenance and updates.
- Deliver game-changing customer service every single day via email, SMS and social media messaging.
- Craft and send effective, on-brand email and SMS campaigns.
- Execute seasonal wine club releases.
- Manage shipping, logistics and relevant compliance tasks.
- Contribute to brand marketing and storytelling strategies.
- Create creative written content for websites and products.
- Collaborate with Multimedia Content Creator to create brand and product content and manage creative assets.
- Work on new printed material and retail display.
- Support ongoing PR initiatives.
- Help organize, promote and assist with special events at our wineries.
- Deliver consistent analytics reporting and insights.
- Assist with hospitality operations, onsite service, bottling, labeling and other cellar operations projects when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3+ years working in digital or wine marketing.
- Strong understanding of sales techniques and motivations.
- Interest in wine and ability to discuss wine offerings with customers.
- Well versed and comfortable with winery brands’ positioning, subject matter and values.
- Passion and knowledge about vintage aesthetics and cultural touchstones related to rock ‘n’ roll music, automotive, surfing, skating, fashion, and California.
- Strong technical skills with Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, Excel, CRMs, Google Workspace, and AI with the ability to utilize numerous systems daily and quickly adapt to new technology.
- Experience with photography, videography and video editing.
- Strong grasp of modern social media including Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
- Familiarity with online ads.
- Strong sense of organization and consistency, with the ability to prioritize and hit deadlines.
- Ability to use math, data and statistics to gain business insight and drive decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with customers, employees and external vendors.
- Must be able to travel to tasting rooms and vineyards as needed.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must have own transportation, a valid license, and be insurable.
- Flexible schedule including ability to work weekends, holidays, evenings and special events as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A true love of wine, food, music, and adventure.
- Familiarity with Commerce7, Klaviyo, and Tock.
- Familiarity with HTML and photo editing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Position is based on-site in Napa, California; 1 day/week of remote work possible after an initial training period.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis (case of wine).
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer.
COMPENSATION, BENEFITS & PERKS
- Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000.
- Health, dental, vision and life insurance benefits, with 100% of the employee’s premium paid by the Company.

- The listed salary range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Actual compensation paid will be determined by assessing a candidate’s education, experience, and skills in relation to other candidates, internal peers, and market data.
